On March 8, 2026, we held the online award ceremony for the APRSAF-31 Poster Contest. This year, the contest saw its highest-ever number of participating countries, with 15 countries represented and 44 artworks submitted. The Online Award Ceremony brought together the award-winning children and other participants from across the participating countries. Points of Contact (PoCs) who organized domestic contests for the APRSAF-31 Poster Contest also joined the event. They supported the coordination of the contest in their respective areas and helped connect participants with the APRSAF Poster Contest.
The ceremony began with opening remarks by APRSAF-31 SE4AWG Co-Chair Mr. Fumiaki Tanigaki, Director of the JAXA Space Education Center, who welcomed all participants.
First, we introduced all the entered artworks and celebrated the imagination of every participant. We then introduced the award winners to highlight their achievements.
Children who received awards joined the event holding the award plaques they had received in advance, proudly showing them on screen. They explained the ideas behind their drawings confidently. The ceremony was filled with smiles and many heartwarming moments.
Following that, PoCs from India, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Sri Lanka reported on their efforts in organizing national poster contests and shared the creative approaches and best practices they developed through their experiences.
The ceremony concluded with closing remarks by APRSAF-31 SE4AWG Co-Chair Dr. Jasmine Angelie V. Albelda, Chief Science Research Specialist of the Space Education and Scholarship Division, Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA).
