As announced earlier, the 20th session of the Asia-Pacific Regional
				Space Agency Forum (APRSAF-20) will be held from December 3 to 6, 2013.
				The online registration facility for APRSAF-20 will be available on
				our website from September 2013. The Second Announcement will provide
				detailed information about the tentative program, accommodation, and
				other related issues. All the information will be available on our

				* 2. News on APRSAF: Update on SSAF2013 activities

Some information on the Space Seed for Asian Future 2013 (SSAF2013),
				one of the activities of the APRSAF Space Environment Utilization
				Working Group (SEU WG), is now available on the following website:

The above website has a handbook of the SSAF2013 experiment, rules for
				report submission, a report on ground preparation, and other useful
				information.
The on-orbit experiment will commence around the end of August and
				continue until early September; the above website will carry the
				results of the experiment.

				* 4. KOMPSAT-5 successfully launched

On August 22, 2013, a Dnepr rocket successfully launched Korea
				Multi-Purpose Satellite-5 (Kompsat-5). Working together with two other
				operating satellites, Kompsat-2 and Kompsat-3, Korea's first radar
				imaging satellite (SAR, 1-3 m resolution) will acquire data for GIS,
				marine and land management, and disaster and environment monitoring.

				* 5. PicoDragon launched by HTV-4
				+----------------------------------------------------------------+
The H-IIB Launch Vehicle No. 4 (H-IIB F4) launched Japan's H-II
				Transfer Vehicle (HTV)- 4 on August 4, 2013, and it docked with the
				International Space Station (ISS) on August 10, 2013. 
PicoDragon, a Vietnamese cubesat, and one of the payloads of HTV-4, is
				now stored in the Japanese Experiment Module, or Kibo, waiting to be

				* 6. Korea starts a training program for space experts
				+----------------------------------------------------------------+
On August 5, 2013, the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning of
				Korea (MSIP), started a program for training space experts, as part of
				its next-generation small satellite development projects (June
				2012-May 2016). MSIP, in association with the Satellite Research
				Technology Center (SaTReC), and Korea Advanced Institute of Science
				and Technology (KAIST), plans to invest approximately 150 million
				dollars, over a three-year period from June 2013 to May 2016, for
				training space experts who will work for various space-related
				companies or institutions. According to MSIP, 2,000 people are now
				engaged in the space industry in Korea and 3,000 more will be required
				by 2020.

				* 7. Indonesia approves a new space law
				+----------------------------------------------------------------+
Following the unanimous approval by the People's Representative
				Council, the president of Indonesia has signed a law for governing
				Indonesia's space activities. Dr. Bambang S. Tejasukmana, Chairman,
				National Institute of Aeronautics and Space of Indonesia (LAPAN),
				stated that LAPAN would play the role of an agency for giving
				approvals and granting licenses for space-related activities, in
				addition to carrying out research and development programs in
				aerospace.
