  - Request for Proposals of JAXA Mini-Project 2012-13
  
  Applications for JAXA Mini-Project 2012-13 are now being
  accepted and will be closed on February 28, 2012. This
  project provides a first-hand experience to the
  participating agencies/institutions in satellite data
  handling, modeling, and validation. For details, please

  2. LAPAN conducts a training program for Mozambique
  //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
The National Institute of Aeronautics and Space (LAPAN) has
announced that it carried out a training program for
Mozambican engineers in December 2011, regarding operation
and control of ground station for earth observation
satellites. This program aimed to obtain LAPAN-TUBSAT data
in Mozambique.

  3. KARI announces its launch plan for 2012
  //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
  Kim Seung Jo, President of the Korea Aerospace Research
  Institute (KARI), reportedly announced KARI's launch plan
  for 2012, including two multipurpose satellites, KOMPSAT-5
  and KOMPSAT-3, a science and technology satellite, STSAT-3,
  and a satellite launch vehicle, KSLV-1.
KOMPSAT-5 carrying the first Korean SAR payload with
  resolution of 1-3 m will be launched by the Dnepr rocket,
  and KOMPSAT-3 carrying a high-resolution optical sensor with
  a 0.7 m panchromatic band and a 2.8 m multispectral band
  will be launched by an H-IIA launch vehicle.

  4. ISRO to launch RISAT-1 and Insat-3D
  //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
  According to Times of India (January 20, 2012), K.
  Radhakrishnan, Chairman of Indian Space Research
  Organisation (ISRO), has announced that ISRO will launch
  India's first radar satellite, RISAT-1, no earlier than
  March 15, 2012. Its all-weather monitoring capability will
  be used in the agriculture sector and for border patrol.
In addition, DNA News (January 18, 2012) reported that a
  meteorological satellite, Insat-3D, would be launched at the
  end of December 2012.
