Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry

About 50 percent of the total labor force is engaged in agriculture, fisheries and forestry. Since the Philippines is mainly an agricultural country, this sector has the capability to bolster the country's growth, especially in the livestock and poultry business. Active markets in coconut, grains, and sugar have been effectively restored through the dismantling of the trade monopolies and cartels set up in the past.
