Mr. Samsuddin Omar is the Deputy Director General (Research and Development) of Malaysian Space Agency (MYSA). He holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) in Computer Science from the National University of Malaysia in 1993.

With over 30 years of experience in remote sensing, GIS, and related technologies, he has played a key role in advancing satellite-based geospatial data applications in natural resources management, land development, and disaster management. His research interests span remote sensing, surface water hydrology, and image processing with pattern recognition. Throughout his career, he has undergone extensive training both locally and internationally, contributing significantly to Malaysia’s advancements in space and environmental sciences.
