Dr. Pakorn Apaphant is the Executive Director of the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA), Thailand's primary space agency.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the King Mongkut Institute of Technology (Ladkrabang), Thailand. He earned his Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (Remote Sensing/GIS) and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (Geomatics) from Purdue University, Indiana, USA.

Throughout his career, Dr. Apaphant has held significant roles within Thailand's National Space Commission and Subcommittee, as well as its Subcommittee on Information and Communication Affairs and Subcommittee on Space Affairs. He also serves on the board of various state enterprises and companies such as Board of Directors of Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand and EGAT International Company Limited. In 2023, he was the Chair of the Committee on Earth Observation Satellites (CEOS).
