Mr. Luke Phillips

Luke Phillips is the Director of International Partnerships at the Australian Space Agency. Luke manages the Agency’s international engagement to support the growth of Australia’s space industry and help progress broader international goals. He leads the negotiation of international agreements on space cooperation and other bilateral initiatives to build mutually beneficial outcomes with international partners. Luke joined the Agency’s International Partnerships section in 2023 with responsibility for Southeast Asia, and most recently for managing the Agency’s strategic partnership with the United States.

Prior to this, Luke was supporting the Australian Government Department of Industry Science and Resources to coordinate government and industry engagement with stakeholders in North and South Asia - advancing trade and economic interests with Japan, India, ROK and Taiwan. Before this work, Luke was with Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) in the United States from 2018 to 2021 where he was responsible for advising the Australian Consulate General in New York on the local domestic legislative and political developments relevant to Australia’s interests.
