Dr. Anuvala Setty Venkata Suresh Babu holds a B.Tech and M.Tech in Agricultural Engineering and a Ph.D. in Water Resources. He is currently serving as a Scientist at the National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), with over 27 years of dedicated service. His professional expertise lies in the application of satellite-based remote sensing technologies for diverse domains such as Water Resources, Agriculture, Disaster Management Support, and Urban Studies. He has been part of teams instrumental in formulating and implementing several remote sensing-based projects that integrate space technology into developmental and management activities. Dr. Babu has made significant contributions to major national-level projects and programmes of ISRO, collaborating closely with central and state government departments for thematic applications. His work has strengthened the operational use of geospatial technologies across various sectors, enhancing their role in informed decision-making and sustainable resource management. In addition to his technical contributions, he has rich experience in organisational management within NRSC. He is presently serving as Scientist-G and Group Head, Urban Studies & Applications, in the Remote Sensing Applications Area at NRSC, ISRO, continuing to lead initiatives that advance India’s space-based applications for societal and developmental benefits.
