Orbital experiments for education, "Try Zero G", were conducted by Japanese Astronaut Satoshi Furukawa during his stay on the ISS. The themes of experiments were selected from ideas applied by APRSAF countries.

The Space Education and Awareness Working Group (SEA WG) was established in 2004 with the aim of: i) effectively using space materials to enhance education for young people; ii) pro- viding education and training opportunities for young people in space science and technology; iii) helping enhance mutual understanding among countries in the region through exchange op- portunities for young people; and iv) increasing public awareness of the societal benefits and importance of space activities.
Activities
To achieve the above aims, the working group has undertaken the following concrete education activities, targeted at students and teachers of primary and secondary schools, as well as high school, university and graduate students and the general public, in cooperation with Asia-Pacific countries and international organizations:
Water Rocket Event for young people
- Since 2005, the Water Rocket Event is organized each year, immediately following the APRSAF session, attended by 20 to 30 students aged between 12 and 16 from over 10 countries
Poster Contest for young people
- The Poster Contest is held during the APRSAF session since 2006 for children aged between 8 and 11.
Space Education Seminars/Forums/Workshops for teachers and students
- The Space Education Forums are organized for students from primary to high school to deepen their understanding of space. The Space Education Seminars and Workshops provide training opportunities for educators with the aim to support teachers to incorporate the space education activities and materials effectively into their classrooms.
Water Rocket Education for educators
- To promote Water Rocket activities for education in the Asia-Pacific region and worldwide, the International Water Rocket Education Workshop was held in 2008 in Melbourne, Australia, targeting teachers and educators. The workshop resulted in the establishment of an Internet- based Wiki site <http://wiki.vssec.vic.edu.au/waterrockets/>.

CanSat for students
- The working group promotes CanSat activities for secondary school, university and graduate students at various occasions, including the International CanSat Workshop in 2007.
