Result of the Workshop for the Satellite Communications
Experiments

The Workshop for the Satellite Communications Experiments
was held on June 29-30, 2006 in Bangkok, Thailand,
organized by the Japan Aerospace Exploration
Agency (JAXA) in cooperation with National
Institute of Information and Communications
Technology, Japan (NICT). The workshop aimed
to provide a good opportunity for exchanging
the latest information on satellite communications
in the Asia-Pacific region.
In total, 51 people from 27 agencies in 8 countries
gathered the workshop, and following were the results:
1. It was recognized to be necessary to hold
the workshop regularly.
2. It was recognized to be necessary to develop
a basic experiment plan for WINDS and to find
ways to coordinate an experiment program.
3. The summary of this workshop will be reported
at APRSAF-13.
4. JAXA will propose establishing a "WINDS
forum" to all the workshop participants.
5. JAXA will provide more detailed information
on technical specifications of WINDS in order
to develop experiment plans.
