4. LAPAN and TU Berlin sign an agreement on space technology
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
LAPAN announced that on March 27, in Berlin, it had signed an
agreement with TU Berlin, on cooperation in space technology.
This agreement succeeds a cooperation agreement on an earth
observation satellite program signed in July 2003, which led to
the launch of Indonesia's earth observation satellite,
LAPAN-TUBSAT, which was launched in January 2007, and this
satellite has sent useful images to date. On the basis of this
successful experience, LAPAN is developing two earth observation
satellites, LAPAN-A2 (to be launched in 2012) and LAPAN-A3 (to be
launched in 2013).
