2.India's Resourcesat-2 successfully launched
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
On April 20, 2011, India's Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C16) successfully put three satellites into their orbit. The three satellites are India's Resourcesat-2, the Indo-Russian satellite Youthsat, and Singapore's X-SAT.
Resourcesat-2, a successor of Resourcesat-1, has been built by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). It will provide remote sensing data services to global users and provide data with enhanced multispectral and spatial coverage.

5. UKSA and ISRO sign MoU on cooperation in peaceful usage of space
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
On April 1, 2011, the UK Space Agency (UKSA) announced that on March 30, 2011, UKSA and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) had signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding cooperation in the areas of exploration and use of outer space for peaceful purposes. The purpose of the MoU is to provide a framework for collaborative activities and for reviewing areas of common interests in the civil aspects of space, to facilitate the exchange of information, technology, and personnel, and to nominate relevant points of contact for both organizations. So far, the UK and India have collaborated in UK Avanti Communications Ltd. HYLAS 1 satellite, which was launched in November 2010. Thus, broadband communications services were offered in Europe by combining the expertise of the UK in the area of telecommunications payloads with the use of an Indian satellite platform. Further, under the MoU, the two organizations will cooperate in satellite technical demonstration programs using satellite platforms obtained from UKSA and launch services offered by ISRO; thus, they will develop new commercial applications and services using data and capabilities acquired by Earth observation, telecom and navigation satellites, etc.
