#001 the Disaster Management Support System Office (DMSSO), Satellite Applications and Promotion Center of JAXA

APRSAF Secretariat visited the Disaster Management Support Systems Office (DMSSO), Satellite Applications and Promotion Center of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), which was established on May 1, 2006, and had an interview with Takashi Moriyama Ph.D., Director of DMSSO. The DMSSO is a new organization that was created when JAXA reviewed its organizations to further realize JAXA's objectives in an effective manner.

APRSAF Secretariat visited the Headquarters and the ground station of the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA) and had the interview with Mrs. Praneet Ditsariyakul, Director of User Service and Business Development Office and Mr. Chaiyan Maolanont, Director of Earth Observation Center.

APRSAF Secretariat visited the Headquarters and SDSC (Satish Dhawan Space Centre) of Indian Space Research Organisation(ISRO) and had an interview with Dr. S. Krishnamurthy, Director of Publications & Public Relations and Dr. S. Shankar, Deputy Director of Management Systems Area (MSA).

APRSAF Secretariat attended the 27th Asian Conference on Remote Sensing (ACRS 2006) and had an interview with Dr. M. Saandar, Conference Chairman of ACRS 2006 and President of Mongolian Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, Mongolia.

APRSAF Secretariat attended the 8th International Forum on Advanced Satellite Communications in the Asia-Pacific Region and had interviews with Mr. Raj K. #012 Thailand's Top Water Rocket Championship #1

Thailand PET-Bottled Rocket Club, Saraburiwitthayakhom School Water Rocket Club and the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA) organized the first Thailand's Top Water Rocket Championship on March 18, 2007 at the Cavalry Center's tank's firing range in Saraburi Province.

#013 Vietnam establishes Space Technology Institute - April 3, 2007

Established under Government's decision, the Space Technology Institute (STI) was inaugurated on April 3, 2007. The institute, belonging to the Vietnamese Academy of Science and Technology (VAST), was made to become the nation's leading research center for space technology, especially for developing satellite technology, researching and manufacturing space-related equipment, remote sensing technology, remote sensing applications and space dynamics.

#014 Launch of INSAT-4B, India - March 12, 2007

ISRO's latest communication satellite, INSAT-4B, was successfully launched on March 12, 2007, by the European Ariane-5 ECA launch vehicle of Arianespace. Weighing 3,025 kg at the time of launch, INSAT-4B is the second satellite in the INSAT-4 series.
